Well sometimes you just meet a client who you utterly adore and you would happily go for a cuppa with, well this was Sophie. I have a feeling everyone warms to her and Ron her fabulously comical Spaniel. In true Spaniel style, he brought along his marvellous game bird soft toy who he utterly adored. However, he made a point not to get the soft toy wet when he went for swims. Ron was so immensely at home in the water, it was quite literally impossible to get him out once he went in. He knew it was a game, and he knew he'd win ! I wasn't quite sure if in fact he may grow a MerDog tail at any moment.

The fabulous new community chat group Ripon and Nidderdale Mumbler launched in Autumn and I was delighted to be asked to be part of their launch with a family portrait prize.
I got to work with the most lovely winning family at their home, complete with gorgeous orchard and farm buildings. The sunniest day of the year thus far, in the shade of the spectacular Nidd Gorge, Knaresborough. It was so lovely to work with these gorgeous girls, so full of energy. The girls came straight from a morning of Gymnastics training full of beans, hanging upside down from trees and balancing on walls. Daisy dog, much a part of the family was a dream to work with too.
LIFESTYLE SESSION WITH 9 WEEK YOUNG KING CHARLES SPANIEL - AMBEROne of my bestest friends got a puppy ! Let me introduce 9 week old Amber, the King Charles Spaniel.
As you can see, she's currently going through the chewing phase, but its totally made up for in terms of cuteness / cuddles / those eyes / baby soft fur / tiny paws and being totally adorable ! We did a mini lifestyle shoot with her, she did exactly as she pleased and HOW CUTE IS SHE !! LOGAN AND LOUISEJust look at Logan's puppy dog eye's ! He looked like this throughout. He and his mummy are both absolutely gorgeous.
Louise got in touch a few weeks back, to arrange photo's of herself and her dog (who she shares with her fiance) to gift to her fiance for his birthday. Apparently Logan was meant to be a shared dog, but Louise thinks that Logan and her fiance are pretty much kindred spirits, Logan going to work every day with her fiance. That being said, Logan absolutely relished the opportunity for some time with his mum. You could tell he LOVED all the snuggles. Louise, Logan and I went for a walk along Boroughbridge Canal. The air had drizzle in it and the sky little light, but Boroughbridge always has a way of being beautiful. In all the years I've lived around the Boroughbridge area, I have never taken this route to the canal before. After a muddy track, we were met with epic riverside, long grasses (which Logan loved to dig in) and some gorgeous old oaks. I'm looking forward to taking my own gorgeous dog back there for a walk. It's made me look up to find other walks we may not have discovered in Boroughbridge and I found this awesome website full of local rambles - http://www.boroughbridgewalks.org.uk/river-round/ Louise and I were chatting and it turned out we were at Sixth Form in Harrogate together. Neither of us can place one another, but it was fun to reminisce over old school days. I'll leave you with a few favourite shots from their portrait session. K A R E N + B JYesterday, I was invited to join Karen and her beautiful dog B J for his final walk. What a more fitting place than that, with "England's Finest View" at Sutton Bank in Thirsk. 14 yrs & 4 months old, B J has had an incredible life as a showing champion, and stud dog, having fathered 17 special assistance dogs who have done on to help the blind, deaf and children with special needs. Karen told me on their session of the times he would go and pinch a puppy from the litter and take it to his own bed for cuddles. The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigour; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together Run free over Rainbow Bridge beautiful B J !
xx MINI THE GERMAN SHEPHERDI was delighted to hear I would be working with Mini. Ever since childhood, I've had a huge soft spot for German Shepherd Dogs. When I was a child, I always wanted to follow my dad into the police force and I think the fascination stemmed from there, as back then German Shepherd's were the go to dog for the police. Mini reignited that wonder of German Shepherds. They really are a breed like no other. They want to lay down as if they're a Collie, they want to swim like they're a Golden Retriever, they lift their front paw in anticipation like a Pointer. But then, they have this immense urge to protect, and such super strength. Super trainable, and really awesome ! We met at Love Lane (how sweet is that)... and went for a gorgeous woodland / riverside walk. Following the old railway line through Richmond. Mini started the shoot, by jumping in the river, little did I know, this was what she'd want to do the entire time we were together. I don't think I've ever met such a water loving dog.
