Do winter weddings get anymore beautiful and perfect ? I was over the moon to be brought on board with the wedding of Clair and Mark. Having worked at Cedar Court Harrogate before for events, but never a wedding I know we'd be in for a treat ! The ceremony room was dressed beautifully with warm, lit lanterns, a white snowy carpet, ivy and beautiful huge blossom trees. Clair and her girls was ready in exceptionally good time, as was Mark and the boys. Not something of a luxury I've been afforded with my most recent weddings so it was lovely to take the time to kick back and relax with lots of pics. I was also joined by the incredibly talented Alex Heron Photography who proved invaluable in capturing two locations at once with beautiful attention to detail. However, it's not until the guests start arriving you truly get the vibe for what sort of day is in store. And the love that was pouring into Cedar Court in support of Clair and Mark was utterly undeniable, it was also clear these guys would know how to party later ! The ceremony was beautiful ! Equipped with two best men, Mark was giddy beyond belief in the run up. The ceremony went without an objection (phew) although I did get a bit boxed in by some rather large blossom trees. Again, thank god for Alex being able to capture the ceremony from a second angle also !! It was straight out to a beautiful confetti throw followed by a cozy drinks reception in a beautiful real fire warmed tipi. Guests were handed delicious canapés and mulled wine; laughter ensued. We dashed through some portraits with a spot of drizzle in the air, but it didn't dampen any romance ! These two are the real deal guys; enough to fill the coldest of hearts with hope. So blessed to be a part of their day. As soon as we could, everyone dashed inside to warm up and join the celebration. Cedar Court has such a gorgeous atmosphere to it and on top of the gorgeous bar area a ski themed Photo Booth was also set up with props, to celebrate how Mark and Clair had met on a ski holiday just tow years prior. ... And what is a wedding at the moment without a sparkler exit ? We were able to shoot against the beautiful backdrop of the tipi with only a few fairy lights as extra light. Meanwhile inside ..... it was first dance time. The DJ didn't need to ask once for the dance floor to fill afterward. Thanks so much Clair and Mark for having me photograph your VERY gorgeous day !! Huge congratulations xxx

Well sometimes you just meet a client who you utterly adore and you would happily go for a cuppa with, well this was Sophie. I have a feeling everyone warms to her and Ron her fabulously comical Spaniel. In true Spaniel style, he brought along his marvellous game bird soft toy who he utterly adored. However, he made a point not to get the soft toy wet when he went for swims. Ron was so immensely at home in the water, it was quite literally impossible to get him out once he went in. He knew it was a game, and he knew he'd win ! I wasn't quite sure if in fact he may grow a MerDog tail at any moment.
I was honoured to recently do a third photoshoot with Vaishali and her beautiful family. This time, she also had her gorgeous sister and brother in law and nieces from America visiting. After an extremely turbulent year felt in both America, England and globally due to covid, putting space between loved ones, I was honoured to be able to see this gorgeous family reunited and capture these precious moments. The river Skell of Ripon, North Yorkshire was sublime in the late summer evening sun, and everyone went for a paddle. We were blessed with sublime light for family portraits.
Osmotherly and Codbeck resevoir provided the most beautiful backdrop for this family's portraits. We had the most beautiful light filtered through dramatic rain clouds.
Having known Nicki for sometime, both administrating the marvelously awesome Thirsk Small Business Staffroom I was delighted when she requested some business shots to showcase the marvelous face behind the words of Curly and Candid writing. Nicki was a superstar to work with. You can read her review of her photoshoot here - http://www.curlyandcandid.co.uk/2017/09/01/lucy-white-photography/
The fabulous new community chat group Ripon and Nidderdale Mumbler launched in Autumn and I was delighted to be asked to be part of their launch with a family portrait prize.
I got to work with the most lovely winning family at their home, complete with gorgeous orchard and farm buildings. I don't often get the option or ability to take family portraits at someone's home, but this gorgeous family had such a beautiful garden! I got to meet the entire family including their pet cat. I have never had a cat at family portraits before, so this was a delight.
A multi-generational family portrait shoot in the lovely grounds of Solberge Hall, Northallerton. The daffodils were spectacular as was the gorgeous kitchen garden.
The sunniest day of the year thus far, in the shade of the spectacular Nidd Gorge, Knaresborough. It was so lovely to work with these gorgeous girls, so full of energy. The girls came straight from a morning of Gymnastics training full of beans, hanging upside down from trees and balancing on walls. Daisy dog, much a part of the family was a dream to work with too.
DISHFORTH C OF E PRIMARY ALICE IN WONDRELAND PORTRAITS My daughters class at work were putting on a production of Alice in Wonderland (which was spectacular). We thought it would be fun to all get together for cast photo's ! How incredibly fun. Crab Manor (The Crab and Lobster at Topcliffe) kindly let us use their immaculate and beautiful grounds for the photo's.
It was amazing to see the children get into their roles and have photo's with their friends too. Well done Class Two, you were amazing. |
